What Happened on Your Birthday?

Find the front page of the New York Times for the day you were born by using the Historical New York Times.

Search for articles from popular magazines by searching Academic Search Premier.
There are two ways to find articles on or near your birthday:

Click on the "Publications" link in the green bar at the top of the screen. Browse for for "The Nation" or "National Review". By clicking on the title, you can select a particular year, then a particular issue and browse the contents of that issue.
or
Use the regular search screen, limit by month and year and search for a particular topic: music, politics, books, movies, medicine, etc.

You can use this second procedure for searching for newspapers or magazines in Lexis-Nexis.

Find famous people who died on your birthday by searching Biography Reference Bank. If you are older than 35 or so, you may be able to find famous people who were born on your birthday.

Search Facts on File's federated history search (click on the box on the right-hand side of the screen). Search for your year of birth to find significant events that occured the year you were born.

Britannica Online's timeline, can provide information on notable events for particular years.

You might check how prices translate from your year of birth to today's dollars by using the Cost of Living Calculator.
